With the 2006 changes in the Federal Rules regulating how
Electronically Stored Information (ESI) is
handled, along with the majority of business information now being
stored electronically and in a variety of operating systems and
file formats, having an experienced ediscovery services vendor is
more important than ever. Electronic data, which can be stored in
any number of operating systems such as Windows, Mac and
Linux, and file formats such as PST (MS Outlook),
NSF (Lotus Notes), email and e-files, can be a critical
source of electronic evidence in litigation.
The CloudNine Discovery company has developed cost effective
electronic discovery software, tools and procedures to assist in
the collection, processing and review of large
volumes of disparate data in their native or semi-native
format, many times eliminating the expense of converting irrelevant
data. Learn more about our Electronic Discovery process.
Our ediscovery consultants are very experienced in extracting, converting, reconstitution and processing many different types/formats of email data. Examples include:
Conversion example - Bloomberg email files are in a
proprietary format and generally consist of plain text or XML files
that contain multiple email messages. Since very few clients want
all of the messages processed as one single document we have
designed a software tool that can split the large files up into
individual messages where each resultant file contains one email
message, or we can reconstitute into a PST format.
After the emails are split we have the ability to code the visible
metadata in the messages such as From, To, Sent Date / Time,
Subject, Message Number. The final output of the coding is placed
in a load file and then pared with the requested output format such
as Native file, Tiff or PDF.
CloudNine Discovery's electronic discovery consultants are also very experienced in processing most Macintosh (Mac) file formats and email as well as working with data directly from the HFS (Hierarchical File System) and HFS+ file systems. Examples of Mac OS X document and email types include:
We can process Mac data into an image format or perform file conversion into a native review format for loading into our ediscovery software; the OnDemand® Online Review Tool.
Our ediscovery services experts are proficient in processing many Linux file formats and email as well as working with data directly from the Ext2/Ext3 file systems. Examples of document and email format types include:

CloudNine Discovery utilizes software for electronic discovery
ESI management. Our ediscovery tool software allows documents to be
reviewed natively - everyone has access to the data via CloudNine
Discovery's electronic discovery native review tool software. The
cost to the client for reviewing evidence in native form, and
obtaining a license to use CloudNine Discovery's Online Review Tool
to manage the documents, is about half the average cost of
traditional electronic discovery methods.
